In its 2002 report, "College Bound Seniors: The 2002 Profile of SAT and Achievement Test Takers", the College Entrance Examination Board reported that students who averaged four or more years of foreign language study scored higher on the verbal section of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) than those who had studied four or more years in any other subject area.  Those who studied French scored higher in English testing than students in the control group who did not.

Our teacher will go at the pace of your child, using stimulating and fun teaching materials, including creative and colorful worksheets, audio, video and educational software.

Semi-Private Instruction
Same as private instruction but your child will share the fun

Group class - Please call for schedule -
Your child enrolls in a class of 3 to 8 students of similar level and age. They meet once a week for 1 hour or 1.5 hours. Please contact us for the current schedule of classes.

Tutoring for students of French
If you are taking French in Junior High school, High School or College, we will help you with your homework or get you ready for a test or finals. We guarantee you’ll see your grades improve very quickly and learn French the way it is really spoken.

For: 3.5 to 5 years old in a class of 3 to 6 students. Children will discover French through songs, crafts, games, videos... and they will learn all the basics while having FUN!                                               

                                             Spanish:

Complete Beginner session for children 9 - 11 years old

  The World of News: creating a Newspaper 

from A to Z:

 

 

Your child will use creatively his knowledge of French to write, discuss, edit and publish articles for a newspaper while reviewing and developing his language skills (both oral and written) through many fun games.

 

  • Monday:
    1. The Weather section – Introduction to French cities: your child learns to locate major French cities on a map along with the climate, specialties, children activities offered and some history of those cities (Paris, Lyon, Nice..). The Internet is used.
    2. The Advertising section: your child learns to read, decode and create and ad.

 

  • Tuesday:
    1. The sport and hobby section – The children talk about their hobbies, choose a major cultural or sport event (such as the 2004 Olympic Games), talk and write about it. Crosswords related to sports and hobbies.
    2. The reader corner – They write a letter expressing their agreement or disagreement about an article from a French Newspaper for children.

 

  • Wednesday
    1. The art and movie section – The children learn about art vocabulary (such as music, painting, sculpture…) present a Parisian exhibition and read reviews of French family movies to finally write their own.
    2. The Science section – they conduct a safe experiment (no chemicals are used) talk and write about it and also talk about sciences news (such as spatial exploration).

 

  • Thursday
    1. International section – After factually discussing some major issues of the world relevant to children such as the deforestation (to develop an ecological consciousness), children write an optimistic article including some possible solutions.
    2. Horoscope – your child reviews and learns descriptive vocabulary.

 

  • Friday
    1. Technology Section – Children talk objectively about new technologies and write about it (The Internet, Wireless technology, High Speed Internet…)
    2. Classifieds – your child identifies classifieds to rent an apartment or a car, buy a house or a computer, find a job… and write his own.
    3. Editing and Publishing.
