| We offer private lessons,
semi-private lessons and group class instruction. All our
classes use the newest French materials which include video,
audio, articles from magazines and newspapers, and creative and
colorful work sheets. If you are unsure about your level please
schedule a free assessment so that we can work together to find
the class that is right for you.

After studying French for 100 hours with us in a private
or semi-private class, or 150 hours in a group class, you
are eligible, free of charge (actual fee is $260), to take the TEF
test designed by the Paris Chamber of Commerce. TEF is a tool
designed to assess your proficiency in French. After passing this
test, you will be granted a certificate that is widely recognized
by business firms and educational institutions worldwide declaring
your proficiency in the French language.
Private Instruction:
After discussing your goals and motivations, your teacher will
go at your own pace using stimulating and fun teaching materials
including creative and colorful worksheets, audio, video and
educational software leading you to fluency. You will also become
acquainted with French customs and culture thanks to the friendly
and cooperative interactions with our staff of passionate
teachers.
Semi-Private Instruction:
Using the same teaching methods as private instruction, this
is the perfect opportunity to share the fun with your other-half,
a friend, or a grandparent and grandchild!
Group class:
Add the warmth of a group to your learning time. It’s also a
great way to make new friends!

Complete Beginner I
Senior Class (60+ years old) 4 to 8 students - 18 hours

4 to 8 students: $99

You learn to handle daily situations and carry on
short
conversations. You learn to speak to and understand native
speakers. You also get many tips (tax refund, gratuity...).With
your new knowledge you are able to greet people, order food, ask
for directions, buy a train ticket, use the subway, etc. You
become acquainted with French culture,
which help to make your
experience delightful and prevent you from committing any cultural
"faux-pas"! Whereas this class enhances your pleasure
in France and teach you the essential tools to become an
enlightened traveler, you are not yet able to have long
conversations. If this is your goal, you should add or join a
Complete Beginner 1 class. A traveler booklet is given to you.

This class is designed for the student who wants to really
communicate with French people and handle with ease expected as
well as unexpected situations. This class uses a comprehensive method to teach you grammar
naturally while having fun with role games.
Conversation is also a big part of this class. You learn the present tense and the near future
tense as well as
greetings, how to order food, ask for directions, buy a train
ticket, descriptions, emotions, etc. You learn the essentials
of reading, speaking, understanding and also writing.
Prerequisite: Beginner 1 level.

This class continues where Beginner 1 left off. You learn to speak about
past events and to make suggestions or give orders. You also
learn how to carry more elaborated conversations. More complex texts from
French magazines are used.
Prerequisite: Beginner 2 level.

This class continues Beginner 2. You review the
acquisitions of Beginner 1and 2 while gaining proficiency and
accuracy in expressing your ideas. You learn to build and link
your sentences like a native. You also learn to talk about events in the future,
clothes shop, and explore more vocabulary themes such as making a
reservation over the phone and writing a letter to a hotel or
tourist office to ask for information.
At the end of the Beginner class series, you will
feel at ease in France, knowing how to deal with everyday situations and some
unexpected situations (like: "the shower is clogged!").
You will have gained a better understanding of culture and grammar.
Prerequisite: Beginner 3 level.

After reviewing the acquisition of the Beginner Levels, you learn to express conditions, wishes and
regret, invite and decline an invitation.... You get more grammar tools to improve the fluidity of your
French. Conversation will be emphasized.
Prerequisite: Intermediate 1 level.

You review and explore all the ways to precisely describe
situations and events in the past, the present and the future. You
use texts about the French education system,
French etiquette, and the cultural differences between the US and
France.
Prerequisite: Intermediate 2 level.

You expand your vocabulary and your teacher speaks only in
French. This class allows you to use all your previous knowledge in
varied real situations.
At the end of Intermediate III, you feel very comfortable
speaking with French people. Movies and songs are still challenging to understand, but practicing
is very rewarding
at this point. However, you can't understand yet all the idiomatic
expressions (like "it’s raining cats and dogs"), and
are missing some of the grammar needed to express all your ideas.
Prerequisite: Intermediate 3 level.

After reviewing the acquisitions of the Intermediate Level, you learn to express "subjective" ideas. You
use
texts coming from French science, economic, and fashion magazines
to develop your vocabulary. You learn to argue and make a
point.
Prerequisite: Advanced 1 level.

Using the same type of materials as in Advanced1, you learn how to write short essays and study the two tenses used only in
Literature, granting you access in the original version to not
only Victor
Hugo, Descartes, Rousseau, Camus, and Proust, but also to
contemporary books.
Prerequisite: Advanced 2 level.

In this class, you spend half the time reinforcing your vocabulary
with some fun exercises and the other half will be
spent discussing political, economic, social or
cultural issues while reinforcing the grammar in context.
Prerequisite: Advanced 3 level

This class in on-going. A little of everything is taught in this
class
along with a review of grammar. Vocabulary and accent
reduction are stressed.
After 150 hours of French (about 2 years with Languages
Institute Inc.), you can take specific classes:
- Business French (gain your official associate, bachelor’s
or master’s degree in economics with LI and the University
of Paris).
- Legal French (gain your official associate, bachelor’s or
master’s degree in French law with LI and the University of
Paris).
- Psychology (gain your official associate degree, bachelor’s
or master’s degree in psychology with LI and the University
of Paris)
Prerequisite: T.E.F. score of 600 / 900 and a High School diploma.
